Ruby O’Degee has been involved with building and developing storybuilds and educational environments for the last 10 years. Her recent public school teaching retirement opened up opportunities for her to work full time with Open Sim collaborators to produce worlds and explore uses for Open Sim technologies.

A long time member of the Devokan Trust storybuilder's group, this past summer she ventured out to take part in developing the Hypergrid Story, a 9 region, 9 chapter storybuild sponsored by Nara’s Nook Writer’s Colony. This storytelling project explored new uses for scripts that most everyone can use with very little technical instruction. In addition to this work, she live tutors builders who want to make the leap from working on with primitives to Blender Mesh, and most recently she is developing ways to use off sim elements and lighting to focus the attention of visitors to story worlds.

Whenever Ruby takes part in any Open Sim learning process or activity, she takes time to inform her former teaching friends about the innovations and future of virtual education.
